What is the CirkEx Project? The CirkEx Project was started by a group of individuals in Wiltshire who felt they were disadvantaged in the general labour market because of past and ongoing health issues. This group saw the need for a range of intermediate employment opportunities to enable them to prove they had recovered to the point where they would be an asset to any organisation that employed them. The founders of the Project conceived the idea of a not-for-profit trading self-help group to employ themselves, and others in a similar situation, as a bridge to enable them to again compete effectively in the general labour market. The idea is that everyone employed by the Project will have the opportunity to become a Member of the Project and the Project will be owned and controlled by these Members. It is the intention of the founders that the organisation will become a Member Co-operative with the form of a Community Interest Company. The Project needs to trade to enable it to become financially independent and self-sustaining within a reasonable time. As the intention is to use income from trade to support the activities of the Project it is inappropriate to form as a charity. What is the Project doing now?
At present the Project is seeking modest funding to carry out a feasibility
study to demonstrate the concept could be viable. A Business Case exists
and the study is being managed using the principles of PRINCE2 (Projects
IN Controlled Environments 2). If you can offer assistance or require
further information about the CirkEx Project please either Is it for you? If you live in Wiltshire, have a disability and would be interested in joining the Project at the Feasibility Study stage please email us at recruitment.cirkex@webwessex.co.uk. Thank you, for your interest in the CirkEx Project.
